Flood Tide Digital wants floodtidedigital.com to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, captions, or other assistive technology.
Our commitment
We build websites for a living, and we hold our own site to the same standard we aim for with clients. Accessibility is part of how we design, write, and test, not an afterthought.
Our target: WCAG 2.1 AA
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. In practice that means we work toward:
- Descriptive alt text for meaningful images
- Enough color contrast between text and backgrounds
- Clear headings and page structure
- Pages and menus that work with a keyboard alone
- Forms with clear labels and error messages
- Respecting reduced-motion settings where we can
Known limitations
We are still working on a few things, including:
- Some older images and blog content may be missing alt text
- Some animations and smooth scrolling effects may not fully respect reduced-motion settings yet
- Screenshots of client websites are images and may contain text that is not available to screen readers
- Some third-party tools we use, such as form spam protection, are outside our direct control
We review the site regularly and fix issues as we find them.
